SRAM have just released details on eTap Rival AXS, a new wireless electronic version of their Rival road groupset which will be available from Chain Reaction Cycles later this year.
As well as using their high performance wireless shifting platform, eTap Rival AXS also includes updates to the Rival disc brake system, and there’s a new power meter crankset too. We’re expecting this to be a huge hit for road cyclists and gravel riders alike.
Let’s take a closer look at a few of the key components in the SRAM eTap Rival AXS collection:
SRAM Rival eTap AXS HRD Shift-Brake System
SRAM’s Rival eTap AXS includes their HRD Shift-Brake System which SRAM say offers the best hydraulic disc braking on the market plus their eTap shift logic – essentially an intuitive way of changing gear.
They have also optimised the hood shape to fit a wider range of hand sizes and features textured shift paddles and hoods for control and comfort.
SRAM Rival AXS Power Meter
SRAM have taken the reliability and features of Quarq’s crank-based power meter and dropped the barrier to entry once again. This new power meter platform is entirely contained within the DUB spindle that fits more bikes than ever. The Rival AXS power meter is also lightweight, waterproof and has a long battery life (400+ hours.)
SRAM Rival Crankset
Made from polished aluminum, the Rival Crankset comes in a wide range of lengths and is compatible with nearly all universal frames . With use of X-Range gearing technology, it gives you more range and a smoother gear progression while ensuring crisp and accurate front shifts. The DUB bottom bracket also adds durability and compatibility.
Rival eTap AXS Rear Derailleur
The Rival eTap AXS derailleur ensures secure chain management and fast, precise shifting for a smooth and quiet ride, thanks to the spring clutch. It features X-SYNC pulleys for increased durability and efficiency and is compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrains.
Rival XG-1250 Cassette
The SRAM Rival eTap AXS cassette is made from nickel chrome plating and SRAM’s FULL PIN construction to enhance durability and to keep it lightweight. Featuring premier X-Range gearing, which utilises tight jumps between chainrings and a 12-speed, wide range, 10-tooth start cassette, including new cassette teeth that feature smooth, precise shifting in ranges that cover road, gravel and everything in between.
