Oakley Jawbreaker

The ever-reliable Oakley Jawbreaker sunglasses are Matt’s choice for February Gear of the Month. With a huge field of vision, a superb stabilised fit, and Prizm lens technology, the Polished Black Prizm Lowlight Sunglasses are the pinnacle of sport engineering.

The Prizm Lowlight comes with 75% light transmission and is best suited to low lighting environments making it great for evening, early morning and indoor training. The lens technology helps to boost colour, contrast and clarity which is like going from standard to high definition on your TV.

Switchlock technology enables you to quickly and easily swap lenses in and out, allowing you to adjust your vision depending on the situation. The lightweight O-Matter frame provides all-day comfort and durability, while the Unobtainium earsocks and nosepads keep the glasses in place even when wet.

Fuji Sportif 2.3 Road Bike

Whether you’re looking for a bike to commute to work on, go about a local town or city, or start embarking on those longer road excursions; Tom’s choice for February’s Gear of the Month is the Fuji Spotif 2.3 Road bike.

The bike is built around a robust aluminium frame that is both light and sturdy. The Sportif has a longer wheelbase and a taller headtube similar to Fuji’s top-level endurance bike, the Gran Fondo, to efficiently position the rider on the road, decreasing arm fatigue and back strain.

The perfect beginners bike, Fuji Sportif 2.3 offers some great equipment from some of the world’s leading component manufacturers.

  • Fuji A2-SL Aluminium Frame
  • Shimano Claris 2×8 speed groupset
  • FSA Tempo 50/34T chainset
  • Alex alloy rims
  • Vittoria Zaffiro V tyres

Our Custom Build – Vitus Sommet

At Chain Reaction we love a bike build. In previous series we have put together some awesome bikes, including the custom build NS hardtail. This time round we built a full suspension Vitus mountain bike – using parts from some lesser known brands on the Chain Reaction website.

With revamped geometry and improved suspension kinematics, the Sommet is ready to tackle the roughest trails there are, from big mountain alpine descents to steep technical enduro trails.
