First Look: Crankbrothers ‘Match System’ flat MTB shoes

Crankbrothers have released their brand new Mallet clipless mountain bike shoes and Stamp flat pedal shoes which now use the brand’s Match System, essentially an improved shoe offering better comfort, protection and connection with your pedals.

We got our hands on the full range of Stamp flat pedal MTB shoes. Let’s unbox them:

What’s the Match System all about? Crankbrothers split it down into two main areas – the on-pedal area of the shoe and the ‘off-pedal’ area. The on-pedal part of the shoe uses a Crankbrothers Stamp tread pattern for maximum contact surface with your pedal; it has a lug depth designed to absorb the pedal pin for secure connection and has rounded lugs for abrasion resistance.

Meanwhile the ‘off-pedal’ sections of the shoes have been designed with hike-a-bike or walking in mind, with directional angled and spaced toe lugs for traction hiking up or downhill.
