Chain Reaction Cycles are pleased to be sponsoring the One Day Ahead charity ride, supporting seven cyclists as they follow the entire 2012 Tour de France route one day ahead of the charging peloton in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research UK and the Ben Trend Foundation.

The intrepid team is made up of Jamie and Charles Anderson, Chris Ansell, Charlie Baker, Mick Bell, Adnan Saithna and Dave Spencer. Here’s their latest report:

“The boys are doing very well, better than expected even. Yesterday the team completed stage 11 of the TDF. To date they have cycled 1,964km and completed 33 categorised climbs. The longest of which, the Col du Madeleine, saw the riders ascend to 2000m, with over 26km of climbing. To put the scale of the challenge in perspective this was then followed by two more brutal HC (haute category) climbs. Needless to say it was the most testing day to date.

Despite this the team are looking strong and are in great spirits. We have no doubt that they will find the reserves of motivation and energy to complete this massive challenge.

Thanks to McDonalds’ WiFi we are posting regular updates and images on Twitter, Facebook and the ODA website. Please follow these to keep up to date on our progress. Your comments and words of support are hugely appreciated so thank you.”
