We were proud to support this year’s Škoda Velothon Berlin, an eclectic festival of cycling which took place in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June.

Incorporating Europe's second largest cycle race with over 13,000 participants, the Škoda Velothon Berlin was the perfect event for big and small, young and old, newcomers and riding stalwarts alike.

Chain Reaction Cycles' events team headed to the German capital with our usual high-class retail presence, offering a great range of riding essentials and some of the top bikes from our Vitus 2012 range, including the Sean Kelly Ltd Edition race machine.

In conditions unlike many other inner-city cycling events, the region's traffic came to a standstill on the Sunday as thousands of amateur riders took on the 60km or 120km course through the famous parts of the capital city and bordering province of Brandenburg.

As well as the amateur Age Group rides, the weekend also played host to the Garmin ProRace Berlin, which was won this year by Lotto Belisol team rider André Greipel ahead of Rudiger Selig (Katusha Team) and Raymond Kreder (Garmin – Barracuda).

Other highlights over the weekend included children's races and rides, an extensive expo arena with more than 60 exhibitors and professional talks and seminars offering riding advice and tips.
