Chain Reaction Cycles’ in-house brand, Vitus Bikes, has released its 2016 cyclo-cross bike line-up – led by an impressive full carbon Energie Pro model.
The all new full carbon Vitus Energie Pro (above) is a professional level CX bike with increased mud clearance, a 200g reduction in frame weight over the 2015 model and uses SRAM’s Rival 1 CX groupset.
“We’ve adopted the 1×11 setup on both our full carbon and alloy ‘cross bikes for 2016 – availing of SRAM’s latest Rival level CX specific groupset.
We’re fortunate to have David Montgomery – current Irish National Elite CX Champion as a sponsored rider for Vitus Bikes and he’s proved invaluable in providing feedback on the new Pro bike’s build and setup,” said Brand Manager Simon Cordner.
Vitus Energie 2016
The alloy framed Vitus Energie features a tough 6061-T6 frame with a full carbon fork, tapered carbon steerer and 15mm through axle configuration for improved tracking; a 27.2 seatpost for added comfort and revised geometry – providing a longer top tube and shorter stem combination to improve handling.
Vitus Energie GR 2016
Finishing off the Vitus range of CX and adventure bikes is the Energie GR. This all weather, all discipline, all day training and commuting bike is aimed as a true ‘do it all’ bike geared towards those who want to explore and take the road less travelled.
The Energie GR’s drivetrain is taken care of by the new 2016 Shimano Tiagra 10 speed groupset paired with TRP’s award winning Spyre disc brakes. WTB’s SX17/Novatec wheelset and Vitus finishing kit complete the package.
The 2016 Vitus Cyclocross range will be available from the end of August exclusively from www.chainreactioncycles.com with pricing starting at £774.99 for the Energie GR, £924.99 for the SRAM Rival CX-1 equipped Energie and £1599.99 for the full carbon Energie PRO model.
