It's well worth investing in a quality repair stand if you're going to be doing any of your own maintenance. After using one, you'll wonder how you ever coped without it. Simply lift your bike into place, tighten the clamp and work away. Most stands have various settings so you can tweak the height and angle of the bike, allowing you to work in comfort.
