We’re always on the lookout for innovative products and the best equipment to make your bike life better, so it’s with great pleasure that we can bring you the 2013 range of Forme road, mountain and city bikes which are online now.
Designed and developed in Derbyshire, England, Forme is a young company focussing on building bikes that are practical, affordable and that run using functional componentry with European style – and since the company’s inception in 2010, the range has developed from five road bikes to over 40, and have received very positive media reviews as well as consumer praise.
Let’s take a closer look.
Initially started as a road bike-only company, all of Forme’s models – from their race-ready to entry-level machines – are tested by ex-pro riders in the Peak District, the company’s local stomping ground. At the high-end we have the race-ready Forme Thorpe Comp 1.0, a carbon-frame Campagnolo Athena-equipped package that’s good for the serious racer or seasoned sportive rider.
If you’re on a budget or new to the road then the Forme Longcliffe 5 is worth a look. A lightweight aluminium frame and fork and dependable chainset will see you right for hours of fun in the saddle – good for the commute, training, fitness rides and more.
For a spot of skinny-wheeled off-road action we have two models from Forme: the Calver CX Sport and Calver CX Sport Disc. They’re both built to stand up to the rigours of cyclo-cross racing, offering optimum mud clearance, smooth braking and shifting but they’re versatile machines so consider them for your commute or the odd sportive ride too.
Rounding out the road range are two time-trial specific bikes, the Forme ATT 1.0 and its carbon counterpart, the ATT 1.0 Carbon. Both models are designed for maximum aero performance and come complete with the best branded components from the likes of Shimano, and FSA.
Much like Forme’s road bike range, their hardtail mountain bikes span from the entry-level Sterndale 4 to the high-end Winscar 29er. An out-and-out race machine, the Winscar 29 boasts a lightweight aluminium frame, RockShox Reba RL fork and shifting/braking courtesy of Shimano.
The Sterndale 1 is Forme’s first ‘proper’ trail bike in their collection – suitable for trails, gravel paths, potholed roads and lots more. A fully butted aluminium frame combines with a dependable Suntour fork and reliable parts from Tektro and Shimano to make this a great little starter bike.
