Chain Reaction Cycles are proud to announce our support of Paralympic Champion Hannah Cockroft MBE, supplying her with training and racing tyres for 2015, as she prepares for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
Hannah was introduced to wheelchair racing at the age of 15 and after just six months training and two races, she was talent spotted and picked for the Great Britain Paralympic Athletics team in October 2008 and hasn’t looked back since.
At just 22 years old Hannah has 30 world records under her belt in the T34 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m distances and in 2011 made her senior international debut in the IPC World Athletics Championships in New Zealand. In 2012 she made her Paralympic Games debut and stole the show, winning gold in the T34 100m and 200m in front of a home crowd.
In recognition of her two gold medals, she was awarded the MBE in the 2013 New Years Honours list.
More recently in 2014, Hannah took Gold at 100m and for the first time competed at 800m, winning Gold in the European Championships in Swansea, after the IPC axed the 200m from the T34 schedule.
On this new partnership with Chain Reaction Cycles, Hannah said: "Huge thanks to Chain Reaction Cycles for providing me with training and race tyres in 2015. Without tyres, I wouldn't be able to race but without the right tyres, I wouldn't be able to race well.
Having Chain Reaction Cycles’ support for the 2015 season is going to mean I can race the tyres I need at every race, instead of saving them for big competition best! Fast tyres mean faster times (hopefully). Thank you CRC for joining team Hannah and making the road to Rio a lot smoother."
Damien Duggan, Head of Marketing at Chain Reaction Cycles said: “It’s an absolute pleasure for us to support Hannah, and we’re glad we can play a small part in Hannah’s preparation to retain her world-beating status in Rio 2016.”
