We've just added SRAM XX1 components to the Chain Reaction Cycles website, which are all ready to pre-order now, so you'll be the first to receive this hot bit of tech as soon as it's available (November)!
Simpler, lighter and more durable than anything before, XX1 is driven by a cutting-edge, single-ring carbon crank and delivers fast, precise shifting for 100% performance when the going gets rough. SRAM XX1 uses an all-new X-Horizon rear mech with Type 2 technology alongside a super wide range 11-speed 10-42T cassette…Here’s the lowdown:
SRAM have developed the XX1 crank for maximum chain control, with each tooth’s thickness precisely CNC-machined to support the chain’s inner and outer links perfectly.
Six chainring sizes are available to tweak your gear range to match the trail, and each of the X-Sync chainrings fit a single universal spider – allowing you to swap rings without removing the crank. Simple but clever.
A horizontal parallelogram design and pulley offset allow the derailleur to keep the chain gap constant across all 11 gears, providing fast, precise shifts. All movement to the horizontal axis is limited, allowing for faster shifts, less shift force and there’s no chance of ghost shifting.
Other regular riding bugbears like chain slap and chain bounce are minimised too as a result of the Roller Bearing Clutch technology.
The future has landed, taking on the form of 1x 11 gearing, SRAM are ahead of the game. With the SRAM XX1 cassette being the first of its kind, 11 speed is now a reality.
Ranging from 10- to 42-teeth, the 11-speed X-Dome delivers an incredibly wide gear range while maintaining even, optimised steps. The single-unit cassette combines with the XD driver body for a superior connection to the wheel.
Positive, precise and faultless shifting – that's what the XX1 trigger shifter delivers every time. Exact Actuation technology combines with a MatchMaker X Integrated clamp to make this one of the most cleanly integrated fit-and-forget systems ever made.
'Grip Shift?!', we hear you cry! Yep, it's back. Three rows of ball bearings deliver a smooth shifting action in this integrated lock-on grip design.
Each tooth on the chainring has been precisely machined to integrate with both the inner and outer links of the chain perfectly. The X-SYNC™ fits the single universal spider allowing to change the chainrings without having to remove the carbon crank arm.
This isn't just any old chain. Designed to work harmoniously with the SRAM XX1 chainrings the 1X11 XX1-specific chain is constructed to interlink with each tooth perfectly for maximum performance.
