Here’s a little preview of 2016 mountain bike helmets from 7iDP, Urge and POC that’ll be available from Chain Reaction Cycles soon.
POC Tectal Race mountain bike helmet
This is POC’s new Tectal Race, a combination of their popular Trabec and Octal lids. As you’d expect from the Swedish safety experts, the Tectal Race is MIPS-equipped and has a number of vents for maximum airflow. An enduro-friendly goggle clip sits at the rear of the helmet, and a camera/headlamp mount system will help for night riding or if you want to record your ride.
“What’s the device at the back?” we hear you cry…it’s a Recco Advanced Rescue System. The Recco system uses virtually indestructible reflector technology which is permanently attached and requires no training or batteries to function. It is always ‘on’ and ready, allowing emergency services to locate you in the event of an emergency.
POC Coron full face helmet
Developed in conjunction with POC team athlete Martin Söderström, the POC Coron uses M-FORGE shell material, an advanced fibre material that POC say outperforms other shell materials as well as improvements on multi-impact performance, durability and low weight.
Urge Endur-O-Matic 2
Promising more protection and increased ventilation and comfort, the uniquely-styled Urge Endur-O-Matic 2 uses a Boa retention system and has improved goggle and glasses interaction.
7iDP mountain bike helmets
7iDP continue their line-up of helmets this year, with a liberal splash of lairy colours on both their full-face gravity lids and all-mountain lids.
