Our first mountain bike demo day of 2015 took place over the weekend at the Forest of Dean, England, where we welcomed hundreds of riders who took the opportunity to swing their legs over a brand new Cube, Nukeproof, Ghost and Vitus mountain bike.
Vitus Brand Manager Simon Cordner was blown away by the success of this first demo day of 2015 , saying: "It was a huge weekend at the Forest of Dean for Vitus Bikes with over 250 demo slots taken up over the two days. Despite a slightly damp start to the set-up on Friday the weather was kind all weekend, providing ideal riding conditions.
As the first major demo event for Vitus, this was an ideal opportunity for our customers to test the all new Sommet, Escarpe and Dominer mountain bikes. With lots of interest in all three models many of those attending appreciated the opportunity to test a 29’er and 650b downhill bike for the first time.
If the amount of smiles were anything to go by .. everyone had an amazing time!"
Also joining the bike brands were Oakley, Oneten, High5 and MET who gave demo bike riders the chance to try out some of their latest technology. Oakley had their brand new Prizm Lenses available for riders to try out on the trail, and got some valuable feedback on the new lenses: "We had some great feedback from the riders that tested product throughout the weekend – many said they felt the trail had been lit up, experiencing more detail, contrast, texture and hazards. Tree roots were 'popping out' so riders could take better and faster lines and enjoy their rides even more.
"With changeable light conditions and a lot of the trails under the forest canopy, riders fed back that they could always see more than they normally would and that their eyes could cope better with the transition from sunlight into shadow and vice versa." Oakley's Neil Ackland said.
