This off-season I wanted to come out to Spain for some dry trails and good weather and the opportunity arose when Alex Bond mentioned he was heading out for a few months of training, so I decided to head out and stay with him.
I posted my bikes out a few days before leaving and unfortunately they took a little longer than expected to turn up however I was able to ride some motocross and put a few solid days in the gym while waiting on them so I was happy!
Once my bikes arrived I got them all built up as quickly as I could and headed out for some downhill runs. I was amazed with the amount of riding there was around the area we were staying and I had clocked in around 10 runs in a few hours on my first day.
The new Nukeproof Pulse was loving the trails and I was feeling up to speed straight away.
On the second week I had got my suspension set up all dialled in and started doing some timed runs and was improving as the day went on so it was good feeling knowing I was making some progress. I spent the rest of the week doing some more downhill and then trying to keep up with my training. I even rode a track that finished down by the beach which made for a pleasant lunch break!
I've now just been joined by team mate Dan Sheridan who is out for another week of riding before the first round of the British Downhill Series, so we’ll be riding a lot more downhill over the coming week.
It was cool to see the big L200 stacked with Nukeproof bikes!
