Nukeproof Mega 2021 mountain bikes launched

Nukeproof Mega Factory
Nukeproof have launched the much-anticipated Mega 2021 mountain bike range, with refinements to its suspension, new sizing options and room in the frame to fit a water bottle.

Since its inception, the Nukeproof Mega has been piloted to four Enduro World Series titles by the Team Chain Reaction Cycles race team, and has become an icon that is synonymous with racing at the highest level.

We caught up with Team CRC Manager Nigel Page in Finale Ligure for a rundown of the Team CRC version of the bike!

Here’s the main headlines on the new models:

  • Intended use: enduro
  • Frame material: full carbon or full aluminium
  • Size: S, M, L, XL, XXL
  • Wheel size: 27.5″ or 29″
  • Travel: 27.5″ – 165mm rear, 170mm front. 29″ – 160mm rear, 170mm front

Described by Nukeproof as an evolution of the championship-winning model we know and love, here’s what they say…

“At the heart of the frame is all new suspension Kinematics, designed to be more subtle off the top, whilst remaining progressive and predictable . Anti-Squat is used to create an effective pedalling bike that can be thrashed through technical terrain. The useable SAG range is also widened to allow riders to tune the suspension to the trails.”

The 2021 Nukeproof Mega gets an all-new frame with overhauled suspension kinematics, tube-in-tube design for easy cable installation, all new geometry, optimised sizing/fit, and now fits a 750ml water bottle inside the main front triangle.

Designed as the ultimate hard charging trail bike, the RS model is slightly over-forked with 10mm more travel up front over the rest of the range to cope with extra abuse on the most technical trails and mini enduros.

Blending the finest SRAM X01 (now 10-52t cassette), Code and RockShox Super Deluxe/ Lyrik components with Mavic Deemax Sam Hill Signature wheels it’s the complete package. Finished with top end Horizon components, there is nothing you need to upgrade on this machine.
