Nukeproof have launched the much-anticipated Mega 2021 mountain bike range, with refinements to its suspension, new sizing options and room in the frame to fit a water bottle.
Since its inception, the Nukeproof Mega has been piloted to four Enduro World Series titles by the Team Chain Reaction Cycles race team, and has become an icon that is synonymous with racing at the highest level.
We caught up with Team CRC Manager Nigel Page in Finale Ligure for a rundown of the Team CRC version of the bike!

Described by Nukeproof as an evolution of the championship-winning model we know and love, here’s what they say…
“At the heart of the frame is all new suspension Kinematics, designed to be more subtle off the top, whilst remaining progressive and predictable . Anti-Squat is used to create an effective pedalling bike that can be thrashed through technical terrain. The useable SAG range is also widened to allow riders to tune the suspension to the trails.”
The 2021 Nukeproof Mega gets an all-new frame with overhauled suspension kinematics, tube-in-tube design for easy cable installation, all new geometry, optimised sizing/fit, and now fits a 750ml water bottle inside the main front triangle.

Nukeproof Mega RS

Nukeproof have unveiled their 2021 line-up of Reactor full-suspension trail mountain bikes which includes updated components and build options.
Designed for a wide range of riding types, the Nukeproof Reactor is built for long days exploring the wilderness through to shredding your local woods, park or trail centre. No matter how technical your ride, the Reactor will keep on rewarding all the effort you put in.
Whilst the Nukeproof Reactor frame remains the same for 2021, changes have been made to the specifications of the bike, ensuring that they’re decked with the very latest components from the top brands including Fox, Shimano, RockShox and Mavic.
Let’s take a look at some of the highlights of the Nukeproof Reactor 2021 collection:
Nukeproof Reactor RS
Designed as the ultimate hard charging trail bike, the RS model is slightly over-forked with 10mm more travel up front over the rest of the range to cope with extra abuse on the most technical trails and mini enduros.
Blending the finest SRAM X01 (now 10-52t cassette), Code and RockShox Super Deluxe/ Lyrik components with Mavic Deemax Sam Hill Signature wheels it’s the complete package. Finished with top end Horizon components, there is nothing you need to upgrade on this machine.
Nukeproof Reactor Factory
Featuring the latest Fox 36 forks, DPX2 shock and Shimano’s XT drivetrain, the Factory version of the Reactor is a hard-charging beast of a bike. New to the Factory for 2021 is the Bike Yoke dropper, which blends seamlessly into the spec by being paired with a Shimano lever.
Nukeproof Reactor ST
Launched as a limited-edition model in 2020 and now introduced to the main line for 2021, this is a short travel version of the Reactor. Originally produced for Sam Hill to race XC during the off-season, the ST is designed to be fast. With Fox Factory 34 forks offering 130mm travel and 125mm of rear travel from a Fox DPS Factory, “it’s still a little hooligan but disguised as an extreme XC/ epic adventure weapon,” say Nukeproof.
Nukeproof Reactor Elite
Winner of MBR Magazine’s Trail Bike of the Year 2020, the updated version is even better! The Fox fork has been upgraded to the Fox 36 and DPX2 Performance Elite rear shock to provide an even better ride.
Nukeproof Reactor Pro
A high-spec aluminium frame Reactor, the Pro uses a SRAM/RockShox combo that offers great bullet-proof performance. Responding to popular demand, Nukeproof have gone with a raw brushed aluminium frame finish with exposed carbon seat stays – it’s a stunner!
Nukeproof Reactor Comp
Nukeproof’s top selling model, the Comp get subtle changes for 2021 including a new Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork paired with a RockShox Super Deluxe Select R out back. It also now has Shimano’s all new Deore 12-speed drivetrain and brakes.
Nukeproof have released details of their 2021 Scout hardtail mountain bikes and frames, which include colour and component updates to existing models plus an all-new Nukeproof Scout Pro model.
“For 2021 the Nukeproof Scout returns with its proven hydroformed 6061 triple-butted aluminium frame. Featuring a 65º head angle (66.6º when sagged), 1191mm (Large Scout 275) wheelbase and 435mm chainstays making the Scout a little corner-ripping punk, excelling when pointed down the trail or sending off a lip.” Nukeproof.
Nukeproof Scout 275 / Nukeproof Scout 290 Pro
The Scout Pro means business with an over-forked (+10mm) Rockshox Lyrik Charger RC up front. Out back, Shimano’s 12 speed 10-51t SLX drivetrain allows you to winch up the steepest inclines whilst the four-pot Shimano SLX brakes ensure there is plenty of stopping power to hand. All models of Scout come tubeless ready, with the Pro rolling on DT Swiss 1900 wheels, wrapped in Maxxis tyres (Assegai up front and Dissector out back).
Cockpit and controls are Nukeproof’s premium Horizon range (wide bars, short stem and comfy saddle) topped with some quality Nukeproof Sam Hill Signature grips. The Pro is finished in a stunning brushed raw aluminium.
Nukeproof Scout 275 / Nukeproof Scout 290 Comp
The Comp model sees the introduction of the latest Shimano Deore 12 speed drive train and the awesome Marzocchi Bomber Z2.
Nukeproof Scout 275 / Nukeproof Scout 290 Race
Nukeproof’s entry-level model maintains a solid spec list for 2021with a brand-new Shimano Deore 10-speed drivetrain, a plush Rockshox Recon RL fork, tubeless-ready Nukeproof Neutron V2 hubs paired with some quality WTB rims and the same Maxxis Maxx Terra, EXO, TR Assegai and Dissector tyres as the rest of the range.
