Victorian Downhill Series 2016/17 – R5 Mt Baw Baw
March 18, 2017 - March 19, 2017
It’s the VDHS 2016/17 series finally, it’s at Mt Baw Baw and it’ll be a blast!
Mt Baw Baw plays host of the VDHS final round for the 2016/17 season, and it ends in full festival mode. The weekend at Baw Baw coincides with a bike festival which includes a trade expo, trials bike demo and not forgetting the big air bag. The main event of course is Round 5 of the Victorian DH Series powered by Chain Reaction Cycles.
What can we expect on the course?
We knew you’d ask and there is only one word, Alpine! You’ll pedal off hard into the first timber decked sweeping corner, before launching into the alpine of Mt Baw Baw. Once into the trees you will experience tight technical sections that burst into fast flowing clearings. As you get to the end of the course the trail widens out and becomes very fast for a high speed finish. Don’t take our word for it though, check out the video!
Do you want to have a go?
Are you excited yet? You’ll be even more excited when you see what we have in store for one lucky entrant. The VDHS and Chain Reaction Cycles have teamed up with Nukeproof (Principle Bike Partner of the VDHS) to offer one lucky registrant the chance to win a jaw dropping prize . All registrants are entered into the draw to win a Nukeproof Pulse Comp 2017 Bike Frame and Sam Hill finishing kit. What are you waiting for? Click the banner below to register (registrations open soon).
Who can ride?
You don’t have to be a pro to come and give downhill a try at the VDHS either. There are categories for Beginner, Hardtail, Sport, Expert and Elite Riders, with categories further split into male age groups and a separate female elite category. If you want to find out more about categories check out the Age Groups page and The Start Gate page on the VDHS website.
What do I need to pack?
If you have just signed up you probably want to know what you need to bring with you and if there are any bike preparations needed.
